The firm of CMM Accountancy was established in March 2005 by Alan Cooper, Nicola Mackay and Iona MacIntosh, giving us a fresh insight into the issues of most concern to those starting up their own businesses. Our team and their prime areas of responsibility are listed below. Alan Cooper After graduating from Edinburgh University with an honours degree in Economics with Accounting Alan trained as an accountant in a small practice in Edinburgh. He moved to Inverness in 1994 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. From 1994 until early 2005 he worked in a progressive local practice, handling a varied portfolio of small company and other business clients. Alan has extensive experience of the small business sector in the local area and has particular expertise in accounting, corporation tax, consulting and business planning. Nicola Mackay Nicola has worked in small accountancy practices in Inverness for over 20 years. During that time she qualified as a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. Nicola has specialised in personal tax compliance and planning in recent years and also has experience in corporation tax, payroll services, software provision and accounting. Iona MacIntosh Iona also has over 20 years of experience gained while working in local accountancy practices. Iona’s specialism is in payroll services, where she provides an invaluable support service for many of the firm’s clients. Our team is extremely experienced and keeps up to date by way of regular attendance at training courses, ensuring that we are always up to speed with the issues that matter to our clients. We have also arranged access to other specialist advice and second opinions through our membership of the Practitioner Service of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and through our ties with other local practices Back to Services Page
